چکیده

There is a growing concern about the use of fisheries-derived proteins in aquaculture. This study was conducted to investigate effect either partially or totally replacing fishmeal (up 15% diet) by inactivated dry yeast product DY-Pro Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus diets. The replaced 0% (DY-PRO0), 2% (DY-PRO2), 5% (DY-PRO5), 25% (DY-PRO25), 50% (DY-PRO50), 75% (DY-PRO75) 100% (DY-PRO100) protein provided seven isonitrogenous and isocaloric experimental diets, which were fed fish (initial average body weight 11.33 ± 1.65 g) for 12 weeks. At end experiment, graded replacement 2–100% did not significantly (P < 0.05) affect gain gut length weight, but linearly improved feed nutrient utilization. Moreover, have any negative impacts on gastrointestinal tract as shown histopathology. no pathogens signs significant metabolic toxicant-related disease epithelium. Results showed that given diets containing consumed less achieve same fishmeal-based Overall, good ingredient, could replace possibly lead reduced costs.

Behaviours Associated with Acoustic Communication in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

BACKGROUND Sound production is widespread among fishes and accompanies many social interactions. The literature reports twenty-nine cichlid species known to produce sounds during aggressive and courtship displays, but the precise range in behavioural contexts is unclear. This study aims to describe the various Oreochromis niloticus behaviours that are associated with sound production in order t...

Dietary Phosphorus Requirements of Juvenile Hybrid Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus♀× O. Aureus♂) Fed Fishmeal-free Practical Diets

A growth trial was conducted to estimate the optimum levels of dietary phosphorus (P) for juvenile hybrid tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus × O. aureus) fed fishmeal-free practical diets. Hybrid tilapia (1.68 ± 0.08 g) were fed diets containing various levels (0.0%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8% and 1.0%) of additional inorganic phosphorus for 10 weeks using two different sources of phosphorus:calcium di...

Visual communication stimulates reproduction in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.).

Reproductive fish behavior is affected by male-female interactions that stimulate physiological responses such as hormonal release and gonad development. During male-female interactions, visual and chemical communication can modulate fish reproduction. The aim of the present study was to test the effect of visual and chemical male-female interaction on the gonad development and reproductive beh...

Human Streptococcus agalactiae Isolate in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

Streptococcus agalactiae, the Lancefield group B streptococcus (GBS) long recognized as a mammalian pathogen, is an emerging concern with regard to fish. We show that a GBS serotype Ia multilocus sequence type ST-7 isolate from a clinical case of human neonatal meningitis caused disease and death in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

RING Finger Protein 38 Is a Neuronal Protein in the Brain of Nile Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus

Really interesting new gene (RING) finger protein is a type of zinc-binding motif found in a large family of functionally distinct proteins. RING finger proteins are involved in diverse cellular processes including apoptosis, DNA repair, cell cycle, signal transduction, tumour suppressor, vesicular transport, and peroxisomal biogenesis. RING finger protein 38 (RNF38) is a member of the family w...
